Collaborations
A key focus area of the Institute is to bring to the Indian Banking and Financial Sector the best knowledge that is being created in the field of Banking and Financial Technology. As part of this process, the Institute has collaborations with premier global institutions, which are providing a thrust to enhance the breadth as well as quality of output from the Institute.
The Institute is consistently widening its knowledge horizons by networking with globally reputed institutions to bring in global perspectives and access best ideas and resources so as to benefit the Indian Banking and Financial Sector. Collaboration with IIT Madras
IDRBT signed an MoU with IIT Madras on June 01, 2021. The MoU facilitates collaboratively planning and executing research projects in various areas of interest of IDRBT and also provides a framework for PhD Students to jointly work with Faculty of IDRBT and IITM.

Collaboration with IIT Bombay
IDRBT signed an MOU with IIT Bombay on May 19, 2021. The MoU envisages carrying out joint research in various areas of interest of IDRBT and also provides the framework for collaboration in research and academic activities of mutual Interest. It also facilitates joint guidance of PhD Scholars, who would work on identified research projects.

Collaboration with IIT Hyderabad
IDRBT signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IITH) on May 22, 2018. The MoU envisages the Institute’s Faculty jointly guiding Ph. D. scholars of IITH and also provides the framework for guiding M. Tech. students jointly and collaborating for externally-funded research projects.

Collaboration with IIT Kanpur
The IDRBT signed a MoU for Research and Academic collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) on December 17, 2010. The MoU enables both institutions to jointly work towards enhancing the research and academic base in the area of Banking Technology through Faculty Exchange Programme, Joint Research Projects and Banking Community Projects.

Collaboration with University at Buffalo
On June 19, 2013, IDRBT signed a MoU with the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, USA. The joint collaboration envisages providing thought leadership and mentoring to the Indian Banking and Financial Sector in the areas of Information Assurance and Management, Information Security, Cyber Forensics, etc.

Collaboration with NPCI
In order to facilitate research collaboration in the areas of Mobile Payments and Analytics, the IDRBT and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) signed a MoU on October 23, 2015. The MoU aims to build a mutual relationship through collaboration in academic and research activities especially in the area of Mobile Banking and Anaytics.

Signed on April 29, 2016, the MoU between IDRBT and the National Institute of Technology, envisages a joint Ph.D. Programme in the areas of Information Technology and Computer Applications and collaborating on research projects and academic programmes in areas of mutual interest.

IDRBT signed a MoU with National Institute of Technology (NITW), Warangal, on December 16, 2015. The MoU provides the framework for a joint Ph.D. Fellowship and enables collaboration for external research projects and joint academic programmes in the areas of common interest.

IDRBT signed an MoU with Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) on May 19, 2021. The MoU facilitates collaborative research in the evolving areas of security.

The Institute's MoU with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), signed on March 12th 2013, provides the framework for both the Institutes to jointly identify projects in areas of common interest for collaborative works and execute them.

IDRBT signed an agreement with TCS Foundation on July 21, 2020, for academic cooperation in the form of a Research Scholar Programme, with an objective of encouraging and supporting world class, innovative, and impact-creating full-time Ph.D. work at IDRBT, in the areas of Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Software Engineering.

Collaboration with Cloud Security Alliance
Signed in 2014, the MoU enables IDRBT and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to form joint working groups related to Cloud Security, Interoperability Standards, and conducting conferences and webinars together on Cloud Security.

The Institute has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PSB Alliance Private Limited (PSBA), a company created by the Public Sector Banks. This MoU provides the framework for collaborating on mutually agreed areas of Banking Technology with the initial focus on i) Blockchain Based Solution for Balance Confirmation and ii) Digital Lending Platforms.

The Institute and ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), the international body that promotes and cultivates expertise in the area of Information Systems Control, Audit, Security and Governance, signed an MoU on September 12, 2011 to carry out joint activities that will benefit the Indian Banking and Financial Sector in the areas of IT Governance, Information Systems Audit, Information Security and Information Systems Risk Management. The MoU intends to create and develop resources that will assist stakeholders in understanding and implementing best practices in the above-cited areas.

Collaboration with Amazon Internet Services
IDRBT signed an MoU with Amazon Internet Services Pvt. Ltd., on October 27, 2020 to collaboratively work on academic and research activities in the areas of mutual interest, especially Cloud Computing and other emerging technologies for Banking and Financial Services.
