The Reserve Bank of India had set up, Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (the Institute) on June 10, 1996 as a Society under the Society Registration Act. The objective of the Institute was to spearhead technology absorption in the banking and financial sector of the country. In its credit’, the Institute had developed grounds-up and managed digital infrastructure such as a) ATM-NFS network, b) INFINET, SFMS, RTGS, NEFT, IBCC (Inter Bank Community Cloud) [these were hived off on its maturity to NPCI and IFTAS in 2010 and 2015 respectively], development of standard and protocols for Mobile banking, Micro ATM, etc. and continue to function as Certifying Authority for digital certificates for banks and government. The research and academic activities provided the technical know-how for the adoption and absorption of these services and trained manpower for the banking industry as well.
The Institute has set up Research Centers for aiding and promoting research and development work. The Research Centers are being constantly upgraded to keep pace with the ever-changing technology trends. Further details about us can be accessed at https://www.idrbt.ac.in/about-idrbt/. IDRBT now plans to engage for the following positions.
