IDRBT Signs MoU with NPCI

Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Both institutes mutually agree to:

  • Jointly organise exclusive training programmes for professionals from the banking and financial sector on payment security and privacy.
  • Develop certifications and standards for payment security professionals.
  • Extend सचेत (IBCART 3.0) Threat Intelligence Feed subscription to entities working with NPCI.

Both institutes carry a legacy of marking milestones in the BFSI sector of India, as IDRBT hived off its operational role on the National Financial Switch (NFS) for ATM networks to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on an ‘as-is-where-is’ basis in October 2009 for further expansion. The handover facilitated the continued growth and development of the NFS network, which, as on July 31, 2024, connects 2.61 lakh ATMs of 1,317 member banks, currently maintained by NPCI.

Strengthening the broader payment ecosystem by promoting a culture of security awareness, capability-building, and proactive response, and enabling shared access to threat intelligence is the aim of this association.
