Dr. M. S. Sriram, Distinguished Fellow, brings with him rich experience in the area of Financial Inclusion and Micro-Finance.

Currently, an independent researcher, he has held the positions of ICICI Bank Lalita D Gupte Chair Professor in Microfinance and Chairperson, Finance and Accounting Area, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad from 2009 - 2010; Professor, Centre for Management in Agriculture, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad from 2005 - 2009 and Associate Professor, Centre for Management in Agriculture, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad from 2000 - 2005.

A Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, presently he is an Independent Director, Union Bank of India and Member, Governing Council of Bankers' Institute of Rural Development, Lucknow.

He was Chairman, Committee on Developing a Course on Financial Inclusion, BIRD, Lucknow; Member of Expert Panel for an Implementable Action Plan for Agrarian Distress, NABARD; Working Group to Suggest Measures to Assist Distressed Farmers, Reserve Bank of India; Expert Group on Investment Credit, Reserve Bank of India; and a Member of the Task Force on Revitalisation for Co-operative Rural Banking, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He was also a Member, Project Advisory Committee, Capacity Building for Microfinance Institutions, supported by USAID.
